Pink News...

Well, I have been busy with the new shop....here's a peek at what I have been up to, doing a bit of creating in between to keep me grounded...

Having fun with handwork it is so relaxing...

Well, it seems that I have been too busy to blog lately, so this is what I was up to...getting my daughters ready for prom! I was also on the decorating committee...everything turned out so nice whew....

Mia is a junior, sixteen and will be graduating next year. She wants to attend a UC to study engineering. She loves math and softball...

Savannah is seventeen and will be graduating in a few short weeks and will be attending college to study
criminal justice. Savannah loves softball too and is hoping to get a softball scholarship.  I am going to miss my sweet girl. I can't believe she is all grown up...

Sisters, they are close in age only 15 months apart...even though they argue like sister do they love each other very much. I'll show you some more prom picts on the next post Pinkie

Everything's Coming up Roses

I just love roses...  (Roses from my Paper Crown)

Especially Pink ones...

My roses are starting to bloom in my yard...

So why not...

Have paper roses blooming in our shop...

I had an old flower making book and used sewing pattern tissue which is so abundant at the thrift

They were so fun to make and I really like how they turned out

I used an old set of Christmas lights and wrapped the tissue petals around the base of the light to form the rose, they take about 36 petals to a rose. You should try them and enjoy

And don't forget to take time to stop and smell the Roses! Pinkie

Yardsales, Finds....

The other day I was giving my sister a ride to work at the school....after I dropped her off I noticed a bunch of stuff sitting out in the yard. It looked like a yardsale over the weekend I had missed. Oh well, then out of the corner of my eye I spied something, maybe it's worth turning around and a second look.
I circled back around and got out of the car and rang the door bell. No one was home....just then someone came around the back and I asked if these things were for sale, yes he answered let me get someone. A women came out of the house and I asked if she was moving or having a yardsale?

Yes, she was moving and had a yardsale and not one person showed up...Hum your kidding I said.
I asked the price of the desk and she said a ridiculously unbelievable low price, I answered I'll take and she seemed shocked. She said if you like that I have something else you might like...
 
She showed me another Victorian piece and I said I would like that too. I have always wanted an oak side board and this secretary desk, I don't think I have ever seen one like it...
 
It does need a little refinishing and restoration, but I think they will turn out beautiful

Well while moving and deciding what I am going to keep and what I have to part with to make room for my new treasures I became a little distracted....I found this little box tucked away in a corner

On top was this cute little pillow with a satin envelope on the back...maybe a tooth fairy pillow, wouldn't you love to sleep with that under your pillow?

Next there were a stack of cards, oh yes I remember this shopping trip to my favorite shops with my mom

This valentine card has a watered silk ribbon for the dress, well I couldn't leave that behind

I love going to this little store, It's called Barb's Bygones...I have been going there for a while now and have never left empty handed. She has the most wonderful collections of treasures...

I love trade cards too...

I love this guiloche pin and this beautiful lady, I asked about it and Barb said I have had that forever and you are the only one interested...its a broken lid of a box or compact I believe, you can have it...
