Victorious Medals

One of my favorite classes at Silver Bella was the Victorious Medals taught by Teresa McFayden...
It was so fun to watch everyone's unique creative

There were so many wonderful and talented women to meet...

So busy cutting, visiting, and making new friends...

I was so happy to meet sweet Heidi who was in several of my classes....

Look at these gorgeous medals made by hmmmm Jenn Hayslip...so pretty in pink

I was so inspired by everyone and tried to finish my project, but had to wait till I returned home

We were given some wonderful ribbons and element to work with in our kits...

I wanted to combine some vintage and antiques into mine...

It was so nice to meet the talented Teresa and take a class from her....


I used Victorian calling cards on these ribbons

Antique laces and Victorian scrap...

It feels so good to finish something....


Silver Bella was such a great experience, if you haven't gone yet please try to go...it was wonderful!

Silver Bella Here I Come!

Last spring I decided I would like to attend Silver Bella in Omaha, Nebraska...

I can't believe that time has passed so quickly and that I am gathering my crafting and art supplies...
I finished my last swap in which we will trade with 26 others making a card with a letter of the alphabet


My letter was D, it was fun but so glad its done and I am now scrambling for through my stash of vintage supplies linens and laces, oh what to bring?

A bit of this....

 I want to take everything, but I don't think it will all fit...



Is anyone else out there having this dilema? Yikes decisions, decisions! Pinkie

Pom Pom Love.....

Hope everyone is having a wonderful May....I have been busy with family, my daughter Savannah will be graduating from High School and my son from UC Merced. We have been busy with our little shop too.
With summer on it's way I have been trying to organize my craft room, yikes!

I have had a little bit of creative time at the shop and finished my paper pom's from Pam Garrison's blog.
She gave a tutorial on how to make these fun fluffy papers
You can use almost any papers, tissue, wrapping paper, sheet music, cup cake liners, coffee filters, tulle, and even fabric for your circles...

I even stained my papers a bit with coffee for an antiqued effect...

We hung them in the shop window with the gloves and hankies...

I can't believe it! I am going to Silver Bella...I have been wanted to attend and made my reservation. It looks so fun you should check it out

Everything's Coming up Roses

I just love roses...  (Roses from my Paper Crown)

Especially Pink ones...

My roses are starting to bloom in my yard...

So why not...

Have paper roses blooming in our shop...

I had an old flower making book and used sewing pattern tissue which is so abundant at the thrift

They were so fun to make and I really like how they turned out

I used an old set of Christmas lights and wrapped the tissue petals around the base of the light to form the rose, they take about 36 petals to a rose. You should try them and enjoy

And don't forget to take time to stop and smell the Roses! Pinkie

Celebrating Love.....

Last year for Valentines Day I founds this Sweet little doll...She is made from dump dolls found in Germany left during the War
I decided to join a creative swap that Dede is hosting...To get inspirated I decided to take out some of my Valentines cards and pink textiles....
I wanted to create a needle point rose for each of my pages, but I am pushed for time....
Here are some of things that will go on to my pages...Antique lace, rose and rhinestone button,Victorian calling cards and old dictionary pages I want to make some hearts out of this gorgeous soft pink velvet and vintage ribbon, I just love this calling card it's one of my favorites
I did a little treasure hunting this week and will share my finds. I have been busy working on my secret project with my sister Ruby Rene' this is a little Clue to my surprise " Pinkie's and Ruby's Whimsy"?Hmmm what does that mean? You'll soon find out.....Enjoy Pinkie

Friends, Creating, and Art....

I was given this award by the Sweet Betty of Shesewpretty. She said she gave me this award for my crowns,
thank you so much Betty. I am supposed to pick  five others and link to their website that I think have inspiring
and artistic blogs.....I am going to have to do that in another post, hope thats ok. I am very busy this weekend
with family packing for vacation. Everyone hope you had a wonderful 4th I  sure did spending time with family
out of town that I haven't had a chance to see and visit with for a while. I will try and post some pictures later.

Doll Theatre La Modes

Whew, I finally finished....A bunch of kids, chaos and a deadline! My kids are out of school, my daughter came home from college for the summer and a few extra friends and cousins. I do enjoy creating and making things, but sometimes I forget to enjoy the process....finding the balance in chaos....
I joined a group of women who were making Toy Theatres. They are going to put them into a book form.
I can't wait to see everyones creation when they are all completed together...
Well, call me crazy. I am already thinking about creating my next one. It was so much fun and I learned alot
about one of my passions, Costuming and fashion....Happy Wednesday Pinkie

 

Madame Doll Theatre

One of my blogging friends asked if I was making a theatre for the Collaborative with Catherine Moore, Huhm?
I am so glad I decided to join, and make such a fun project. I have always loved fashion, dolls and antiques.
It was left pretty much open for us to choose what we were going to do...
I chose an old clock case I had been saving for years for something to stage my theatre....


I am going to line the inside with old sheet music, with the theme moonlight waltz, so romantic....


I decided to crown the top of my theatre with what else....a wonderful tiara of empherma and millinery flowers...

I am having a little trouble decided which beautiful Madame will make her debut....I love them all...

I am making the stage curtains right now, so hard to choose, should I use the green, rose and French striped fabric for the drapes? I think the stripes might be a little to busy...

 I decided to use this wonderful antique tile with morning glories for my stage floor, isn't it great?

Well, I am off to put on the finishing touches, When I have it all together and I better it's supposed to be
done by this weekend...I will take a picture. It feels so good to be creating Pinkie Denise
