Treasures, what are they? Each has a different meaning and value, only real to what one holds in their heart. Family, health security, peace, joy, friendship and true love. To me these hold value in my life.
I have been blessed in so many ways and so much to be thankful for, I can not count.
This summer my sister, mother and I had the opportunity of clear out a little old cottage. The deal was
everything had to be moved out in 24 hours. It was hot and muggy that day and it seemed almost impossible. Peering through the windows many a time this house had been empty for along as I can remember, left untouched for about 50 or 60 years. We began moving everything out into the front yard, wanting to stop and look we had no time. The upstairs attic with old iron beds feather mattress and old handmade quilts left as if they had just been made, but covered with 50 years of dust, old clothes, boxes of hidden treasures everywhere. I began to venture into a back closet dark and dingy I unearth this old card.
Another one an beautiful old glove box............ Where did they come from who put them there? This is
a story to unravel and be told more later, as we unpack and sift through, we only had time to get it out of
the weather. It sits in my mom's basement waiting....... part and pieces of someones life left but not forgotten. This makes me want to enjoy my life my family, use my treasure what they were meant for and
share their beauty with others not keep them hidden or locked up somewhere, lets share ours today!
Here is the glove box......
Beautiful old floral fabric found in attic.......
Old chromolitho found in the cottage, my favorite........
Gentle embrace....................................................
I am going to hang this in my living room, I love it.
What stories will these treasures tell, hmmmm, I don't know?
We'll have to wait for the rest of the story.......................
Have a blessed day!
I would be in absolute heaven is I could clear out an old Cottage!
I'm sure your finds are fabulous...
You lucky gal!

Hi Denise- that must have been so hard not to stop and look at everything as it peeked at the sunlight after so many years. I'm looking forward to hearing and seeing the treasures.

Fun things! I think the thrill is in discovering something unexpected. When we bought our 200 year old house, we discovered an old tintype behind the bricks of a falling down fireplace. A real treasure, and instant connection to the previous inhabitants. My kids made our own time capsule and plan to hide it behind a new built brick wall.

WOW!!! What a treasure!!! I always think when I go to auctions and such that the people that once owned all of these pretty things would be happy to know that someone out there is treasuring them. :) Beautiful glove box and fabric...the litho is gorgeous!!!

What an amazing story! Such things I thought only happened in dreams and novels. Please do share more of the treasures so we can piece together who it was that lived there among beauty and finery once upon a time....
