Hello, I am alittle late posting my Dolly post due to computer problems please I just want to say thank you to Lori at Faerie window for having this Doll Challenge so I could share one of my passions with you....Pinkie
forgive the delay...
This is how I feel, a little discombobulated and out of sort.....These are some of my Nancy Anns when I got them needing lots of TLC...
After a bit of primping , washing and ironing, and some patience the sweet girls were ready for their debut
My mom remembers having a Nancy Ann that her dad had won for her at a Card
Party....
They are often called Storybook dolls because they were named after characters in children's stories....
Here comes the Bride...and groom and bridesmaid and can't forget the sweet
little flower girl..
I love fixing and putting them back together, I think they have the sweetest expression,
how could you not love them? I have a box sitting of them waiting for their makeover...
Here are some of my Japanese bisque dolls...I was told that they would come
in a kit , with the materials to make them a dress. Little girls would learn how
to sew, they are called Sewing Dolls....I would love to make dresses for them...
The middle one has a crepe paper dress, a little tattered but well loved and
played with...
Dressed up for a wedding, I bet these were atop a cake perhaps...
These little sisters each of lock of gold and silver, I love them....
More babies in need of clothes, poor things.....
Here's a cloth doll I brought home from a yard sale and a Nicol Sayre doll that
I love....I have long been an admirer of her dolls and last summer she (Nicol) came to visit us at our home...
This is a Susan Arnot doll in a theater...She recreates these from antique doll heads reclaimed from German dumps buried during the first World War...amazing I think
These are my some of my antique doll collection....
I am not only a collector, but a doll maker, I love to recreate antique reproduction porcelain dolls. This my first love and passion...through rough times in my life much healing and restoration came to my own life, I don't know how to explain it but I don't know how I could of made it with out creating....
I love to gather other doll related items and toys...I even have several wicker
doll and baby buggies...
Pincushion or half dolls awaiting their skirts....
I have plans for these, but not enough time...
This a paper doll creation I made for the Bloglandia ball...
Here are some of my cloth dolls in progress...I call them Vintage dollies made
with vintage hankies and vintage crochet and laces....they are very large about 32 inches like a bed doll....
Here are some projects , have found bodies for these and they need dressing and restoration...I probably have enough to keep me busy for ever...
Oh, I can't forget my Momma's boudoir doll she made...We have several of these needing some TLC too...
Wow! You have quite a spectacular collection of dolls. I love the Japanese bisque dolls. They look like they're up to something. The Bridal party is just beautiful. Had I had those in my possession as a child they wouldn't have made it in such a good condition. I would've worn them out! And I think my favorite is the last doll~the one your mother made is just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!
